First Slovenian Delegation at EXPO Osaka

The Slovenian pavilion at the World Expo in Osaka is looking forward to welcoming the first official delegation from Slovenia, arriving as part of the presentation of the Podravje region and the city of Maribor. The delegation comes from Maribor, the city home to the world’s oldest vine, which shares a symbolic connection with Japan through a graft planted in the city of Katsunuma in 1998. This gesture represents the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation, consisting of 18 members, will be led by Mayor Aleksander Saša Arsenovič, accompanied by Deputy Mayors Dr. Samo Peter Medved and Gregor Reichenberg.
Between April 13 and 30, the Slovenian exhibition space will host a presentation of the Podravje region and the city of Maribor. Visitors from around the world will be introduced to life along the Drava River and the many opportunities the region offers through video content and virtual reality experiences.
Slovenia steps onto the world stage with confidence, unity, and a clear focus on a sustainable future.
